About Centre Based Childcare

Inglewood Community Childcare Centre provides a warm and caring environment, trained and experienced staff, and excellent teacher/child ratios. Our teachers work in partnership with you to support your child’s learning and ensure there is continuity between home and the centre. We offer care and education for children aged from two to five years, and many cater for under twos.

Why choose us?

We have been providing centre based childcare in your community for over 20 years. Our experience, community knowledge, and love of children drives us to be here for every family. We understand your child needs a safe and nurturing environment to learn, play and grow.

Inglewood Community Childcare Centre provides a positive and supportive environment, where your child’s learning are guided through praise and encouragement. Each day our qualified and experienced teachers offer new opportunities to grow your child’s imagination and their understanding of the world around them.

Our programmes

Our daily programmes are based on Te Whāriki, the early childhood education curriculum, and are tailored to each child’s needs and interests and how they learn. When your child shows an interest in something, we will work alongside them and provide resources and challenges to extend their knowledge and skills. You can find out more about Te Whāriki, on the Ministry of Education’s website.

What happens each day?

There will be time each day for individual and group activities, restful times, outdoor exploration and messy play. We also have regular visits outside the centre.  We will keep your child well fuelled throughout the day with morning and afternoon tea. Parents are required to provide lunch.

Our families are always welcome to participate in their child’s learning and development. This could be through visiting your child while in care or going on an excursion.

Subsidies

You may not be aware, but there are government subsidies available, which you may be eligible for.

Support to transition to school

Early learning helps children to be confident and curious about the world around them. It is also proven to help children to be prepared for when they go to kura. When it’s time to start thinking about school, our centres have programmes to help your child get ready for the transition.

Enrolling your child

We encourage you to visit our centre to see if it is right for you and your child. We recommend you come more than once, and at different times of the day to see how we work, and to meet the teachers and children in the centre. When you visit, we can talk about the hours you would like your child to be at the centre. Most centres offer four-hour sessions, six-hour days or full days (more than six hours). Enroll online now
